Rosa Abbott is the appointed Post Surgeon, Historian, and Webmaster of VFW Post 4548 in Jacksonville, Arkansas.  Rosa served on active duty in the United States Air Force as an enlisted person, received a field commission as a Registered Nurse, then continued active duty service for a total of nine years before joining the Air Force Reserve for two more years.  After an extended break in service, she served 10 years in the Navy Reserve, during which she served a 15-month tour of duty in Afghanistan then retired from the Navy in 2013.

Upon her return from Afghanistan, Rosa joined the VFW and became a Life Member. 

Rosa has BS and PhD degrees in Nursing as well as a BS degree in Agricultural Resources and an MS degree in Urban Forestry.  Additionally, she and her husband, Ron, own a small business and reside in Cabot, Arkansas. Together they have three daughters and several grandchildren.
